On the hanging on
You are barely hanging on
Feeling over-used and worn out
A mistake
Without purpose
Not needed
Dead weight
A remnant of your former self
And unable to bring back life
No one noticing you are there
No one noticing if you were gone
But let me assure you
The hanging on isn’t your purpose
Being held is
And the release that you fear
That you are so painstakingly avoiding
Is actually what’s holding you back
Not holding you on
The connection is in the breaking
The letting go allows you to be held
Life is in the release
