On dropping the qualifier
What happens when you put a qualifier in front of something?
It means it’s not typical
It means it’s unusual
Not normal
Not right
We’re implying
That the latter word needs further clarification
To help it make sense
Even if
Each of those words
Are perhaps true
Think about how absurd the opposite qualifier is
Are we accidentally celebrating
What’s keeping us contained in a box
Perpetuating false stereotypes
Let’s drop the qualifier
And just be who we are
